My name is Tristyn Hutchinson.
I'm a 27 year old female, currently residing in Bowling Green, KY.
I once had an ambition to attend a technical school for Culinary Arts, but alas, by the time I finally decided to pursue this dream, I'd already incurred too much in the way of student loans.
I know, it sounds strange, doesn't it? I mean, even if I'd be attending for core education classes alone, I shouldn't have accumulated that much debt, right? Well...originally, I tried to go for Information Technology, back before Draughons Junior College became Daymar Institute. However, they were extremely expensive back then, and even with a Federal Pell grant and student loans, I was still paying tuition fees. I was fresh out of high school and knew nothing about how college or technical/vocational schools work. No one had ever sat down and explained it to me. So I wound up withdrawing.
Fast forward a couple of years. I start attending school again. For a different major. To shorten up this already lengthy story, I switched majors a few times, trying to find something that made me happy--something I would be happy to live my life doing for work.
I finally figured it out. Nothing makes me happier than being in the kitchen. Cooking, baking...I am even okay with the cleaning up part, too.
Well...so what if I can't attend school for a culinary degree? I'm just going to make recipes, modify recipes, test out recipes, and demonstrate recipes. I'll post the recipes here on my blog, giving credit to the site they originated from (or if from a cookbook or Food Network's website, I'll post the actual author of the recipe), and I'll upload videos to my YouTube channel showing the basic mechanics of the recipe.
Do you want to know more about me? Feel free to leave a question!
